Swim Ring Goombas[citation needed] are a Goomba variant that appears in Super Mario 3D World. Only three appear in the whole game, appearing in the level Pipeline Lagoon. Normally, they are sleeping peacefully in the water, but if the player gets close, they wake up and try to attack the player and damage the player if they touch them.
Swim Ring Goombas return in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, appearing in water levels such as Floaty Fun Water Park and Goomba Galleon. They behave the same as in Super Mario 3D World.
