Pipeline Lagoon, otherwise known as World 3-5, is the fifth course of World 3 in Super Mario 3D World and its Nintendo Switch port Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. This level is the first one in the game to take place underwater. It is unlocked via completion of Magikoopa Blockade, and its own completion unlocks Mount Must Dash and Switchboard Falls.
The shipwrecks from Pipeline Lagoon additionally appear in the background in Super Mario Maker 2, in the underwater theme of the Super Mario 3D World style.
Layout[edit]
Pipeline Lagoon starts on a small beach with some Innertube Goombas relaxing in the water. Across the water is a green Warp Pipe that takes the player to the next portion of the level. Here, the bodies of water are deep enough for characters to go underwater. This area contains some Cheep Cheeps and Porcupuffers. When the player transitions through the Clear Pipe to the next area, there is a massive shipwreck in the background. A Checkpoint Flag appears soon after, followed by an area where Porcupuffers appear through holes in the wall in a set pattern. A nearby pipe leads the player to the Goal Pole.

At the end of the first underwater zone, the player has to swim upward while water rises to reach the first Green Star.
After the stamp, there is a crack that, when destroyed by a Cannon Box, reveals a golden warp pipe that leads to a golden room with the second Green Star.
At the end, the player must swim upward from the third column of Porcupuffers to find a hidden room with the third Green Star. |

After the checkpoint, there is a hidden passage that goes upward that leads to the stamp. The stamp is a Cheep Cheep. |
Hidden Luigi[edit]
At the very beginning, an 8-bit Luigi is submerged underwater at the left. Another 8-bit ducking Luigi will slowly go through the Clear Pipe near the shipwreck 30 seconds after the player enters the first green pipe, but the player must wait a further few seconds before entering the shipwreck pipe to see it.
