Hydro Seedles are blue seed-like enemies that only appear on Florall Island and Liil Islet in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. They are the stronger versions of Seedles, having enhanced stats and dealing more damage. As with their regular counterparts, Hydro Seedles generally wander aimlessly in the field, but trespassing in their territory will provoke them into charging at the intruder. Like Seedles, the Hydro Seedles' name is a portmanteau of "seed" and "little", with "hydro" added to the front to account for their water-based healing abilities.
Later on in the game, Hydro Seedles become infected with Glohm and become Glohm Hydro Seedles.
Battle[edit]
The majority of the Hydro Seedle's attacks are the same as other Seedles, being able to either run into the bros or throw a coconut at them. Both of these attacks are avoidable by jumping.
However, they also have the ability to spin into the bros from the top or bottom of the screen. This attack can be avoided by jumping, and ended early by landing on the Hydro Seedle to counter it.
Finally, Hydro Seedles have the ability to heal their allies by showering them with water, restoring 20 hit points; the Hydro Seedles fought in Monster Mania: Level 2 instead heal 999 hit points. They can only shower one enemy with this water, and the ally they choose is typically the one who took the most damage from an attack. This is an ability not shared by their Glohm versions. Hydro Seedles have to charge up their water first, however, with the water being available in a few turns, though it is much faster in Monster Mania: Level 2; until it charges this water, the Hydro Seedle is unable to heal its allies.
