- “Don't keep me hanging, son! When you hear a pun, respond in kind! You could say, "Dad jokes? More like bad jokes!" Or...something like that.”
- —Chilliam's dad, Mario & Luigi: Brothership
Chilliam's dad is the chief of Slippenglide Island in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Like his son, Chilliam, he is tall and lanky with light blue skin. He also has a mustache made of ice.
When Chilliam's dad is first seen on Slippenglide Island, he and many other islanders are infected with Glohm. In this state, he refuses to acknowledge Chilliam as his son. Once Chilliam is cured of his Glohm and Burnadette and Chilliam announce their marriage, Connie and Arc are worried that Chilliam's dad will not attend the wedding. They try to reason with him in the side quest Fear of Glohm, but they are unable to get through to him as he is convinced everyone on the island, including Chilliam, hates him. Thankfully, he does end up attending, as Connie and Arc were able to force feed him an Ampberry, curing him.
In the side quest The Empty Nests, Chilliam is worried that his father is lonely now that he and Burnadette are married. Burnadette's dad is also worried about him, as he seemed upset about something during the wedding. When Mario and Luigi talk to him, Chilliam's dad explains that he was simply struggling to come up with a good pun. In a flashback, it is shown that Chilliam's dad taught his son about the importance of punning for a ruler and had him practice; however, Chilliam's dad realized that he is not the best at punning himself. In the present, he asks the brothers to tell Chilliam to focus on his new life and making his wife happy.
