Gameplay
Overview
Before the minigame starts, players have to try to memorize the items' locations on the shelves with the next few seconds they have. After that, many Toads (specifically red Toads in Mario Party Superstars) come onto the screen and tamper with the toys behind a cloud of white smoke. Once the Toads are done, the game reveals that they knocked down some of the items, leaving some in their proper places. The screen splits into four.

Players try to memorize the locations of items on the shelves for several seconds before Toads mess up the shelves, obscured by white smoke, then some of the items are shown on the floor.
When the minigame starts, the players have to lift the items and place them back on the shelves in their proper spots in a matter of 30 seconds. The better the player memorized an item's location, the more accurate the placement. Once done, the player can close their curtains to prevent others from copying and wait for the timer to run out. They can open the curtains if they feel uncertain about the placement, so they can change at any time. When the timer runs out, the minigame ends. Any closed curtains then reopen, and the game shows the correct placement of each item from left to right. The player(s) who put the most items in their proper spots win(s). If a player earns fewer than three points, they automatically lose. In Mario Party 3, if everyone scores three points or fewer, the minigame ends in a draw. In Mario Party Superstars, this occurs if everyone scores zero.

In Mario Party 3, the items and backdrop are represented by sprites, while in Mario Party Superstars, they are 3D models.

Players try to return the items to their original positions before time runs out. Players can each open and close the curtains on their side, the latter intended to be for when they are done placing the items. After time runs out, all of the closed curtains reopen, and the correct placement of every item is revealed, from left to right. Players who correctly put back the most items win. If all players earn only three or fewer points (zero in Mario Party Superstars), the result is a draw.

Players can each open and close the curtains on their side, the latter intended to be for when they are done placing the items.
