Ultra-Sweet, Super-Rich Cake is a side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. In this quest, Mario and Luigi must bring a cake of the same name to a boy on Desolatt Island.
Ultra-Sweet, Super-Rich Cake becomes available after linking Bulbfish Island and expires after the second visit to Fortress Zokket. Clearing the side quest awards three Super Candies.
Side quest[edit]
To initiate the side quest, Mario and Luigi must speak to two siblings on Desolatt Island. The brother wants an ultra-sweet, super-rich cake, but his older sister is unable to give him what he wants due to there being no cake shop on the island. The Bros. must travel to the cake shop on Lottacoins Island and order that exact cake (which they receive for free due to them linking the island). If Mario and Luigi attempt to ask for the wrong cake, the baker states they are out of ingredients and cannot make it. Afterwards, the cake must be brought to the boy, who happily eats it and describes his experience in great detail. The siblings thank the brothers and they receive their reward, completing the side quest. The boy then requests mega-spicy and giga-chewy candy, causing his sister to become angry with him.
If this side quest is cleared, the two siblings will appear on Shipshape Island right before Mario and Luigi enter the Soli-Tree and during the epilogue. The boy mentions he became a food critic after being brought the cake.
In-game description[edit]
- "It seems like the boy on Desolatt Island is hungry. What does this young gourmet want to eat?"
- "Destination: Desolatt Island
Check in on the young gourmet." - "The boy on Desolatt Island is very selective about his cake. Go find a flavor to please this gourmet."
- "Destination: Desolatt Island
Deliver cake to the young gourmet."
Gossips' dialogue[edit]
The following quotes are from the Gossips if they are spoken to while the side quest is available.
- Yellow gossip: "I wonder if all children of Desolatt Island are as energetic as those IDLE kids."
- Pink gossip: "You know, my husband's younger brother and his family live out on Desolatt Island."
- Blue gossip: "Ahhh! He's the father of that darling little boy and girl?"
- Pink gossip: "That's absolutely right! And that nephew of mine just looooooves cake."
- Blue gossip: "Why don't you visit them once in a while? Won't they be happy if you bring gifts?"
- Yellow gossip: "I'm sure they'd be tickled if you were to bake them a cake or something!"
- Pink gossip: "Well, my nephew is very finicky about his cake! Not like my husband, with his unrefined palate. He has one comment about everything I make."
- All three: ""Deee...deee...deeelishious!" Ohohohohohohohohohoho!"
- "I wonder if those kids on Desolatt Island are hungry."
