Toads Undercover is a side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. In this quest, Mario and Luigi must go undercover on Offandon Island to help Toads escape after gathering intel on Bowser's Minions.
Toads Undercover becomes available after the first visit to Wayaway Island and expires after the second visit to Fortress Zokket. Clearing the side quest awards three 1-Up DXs and three Ultra Mushrooms.
Side quest
To initiate the side quest, Mario and Luigi must speak with a Red Toad located near the merchant at the beginning of the island. He tells the Bros. that he and his friends have disguised themselves and infiltrated the plaza to gather information. He then requests for the brothers to get them out.
Near the plaza's entrance is a group of Toads. There are three Toads still in disguise however, and those three must be brought out. If the previous Toad side quests were not completed, there are less Toads to be found.
- One is waiting in line to get a Wayaway Soda. When it is his turn to obtain one, the Koopa Troopa vendor tells him there is no more Wayaway Soda. Another Koopa Troopa generously offers his Wayaway Soda to Luigi, causing him to take off his disguise. Angry, the Koopa Troopas attack the Bros. and a battle ensues. In this battle, there are five Koopa Troopas. After the battle is over, the Toad is saved.
- Another is talking to a Goomba where Buddy was seen with Bowser Jr. The Goomba is suspicious of the disguised Toad, but Mario and Luigi distract him and rescue the Toad.
- The final Toad is close to the pot of stew.
After all Toads have been rescued, the quest giver Toad arrives and is relieved to see his friends safe. The Toads then report to him on what they learned from going undercover. One Toad reports that he picked up "some good stuff" and gives it to the brothers as their reward. Before the Toads return to Shipshape Island, the quest giver thanks the Bros. The side quest is then complete.

Look for the missing Toads." - "These adorable Toads are attempting a large-scale infiltration of Bowser's base. Maybe they'll find something out in their bravely adorable way?"

- Yellow gossip: "They're disappearing!"
- Pink gossip: "Eeeeee!"
- Yellow gossip: "According to the rumor, they're going to Offandon Island, then vanishing..."

- Blue gossip: "They're probably submerged in Wayaway Soda, prisoners to its bubbly goodness."
- Pink gossip: "That's terrifying! When they get a taste of that soda, those Toads won't want to come home!"
- All three: "Oh, we're NEVER wrong, are we, girls? Ohohohoho!"
