Do the Mario
"Do the Mario" is the ending theme to The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! (and the animated series The Legend of Zelda), in which Mario (portrayed by Lou Albano) performs the Mario dance and sings a song to the tune of the Ground Theme from Super Mario Bros., explaining how to do the aforementioned dance and stumbling at the end. This plays during the credits to every episode. The phrase "Do the Mario!" was also said by the Mario Bros. and sometimes the celebrity guest star at the end of most live-action segments with the Mario Bros. signing off every episode with "Until next time, do the Mario!" or a variation thereof.

English[edit]
The lines in red are not played in the final recording; they were acquired in an auction in May 2019.[1][2] Additionally, lines in blue are not present in the extended lyrics sheet. The lyrics sheet also replaces both instances of "go" with "dance."
Do the Mario!
Swing your arms from side to side
Come on, it's time to go!
Do the Mario!
Take one step, and then again
Let's do the Mario, all together now!
You got it!
It's the Mario!
Come on now, just like this!
Zap to the right and jump,
Zap to the left and jump,
Zap to the front and jump,
All turn around and jump.
Again!
Do the Mario!
Swing your arms from side to side
Come on, it's time to go!
Do the Mario!
Take one step, and then again
Let's do the Mario, all together now!
You got it!
It's the Mario!
Come on now, just like that!

Trivia[edit]
- The episode "Do the Koopa" in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 references "Do the Mario" in both its title and its similar-sounding cover song.
- The German and Italian dubs are the only dubs to re-dub the song for the closing credits.
- However, in the first Italian airings, the original song by Cristina D'Avena was played instead over the same slideshow from the intro while the credits scrolled at the bottom of the screen.
- The French dub uses part of The Mario Rap instead.
