Fear of Glohm is a side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. In this quest, Mario and Luigi must check on Connie and Arc after they travel to Slippenglide Island to try to get Chilliam's dad to come to his son's wedding, despite the chief himself being Glohmed.

Fear of Glohm becomes available after linking Skorcheen Island and Slippenglide Island and expires after Burnadette and Chilliam's wedding. Clearing the side quest awards the Too-Fast Gloves.

Side quest

After the Bros. look at the flyer from the strange merchant, Connie and Arc tell them that they are going to visit Skorcheen Island and Slippenglide Island to get Burnadette's dad and Chilliam's dad to come to their kids' weddings. Mario and Luigi can then find the two on Slippenglide Island. When spoken to, Arc tells them that he and Connie will use persuasion to get Chilliam's dad to the wedding, despite him being Glohmed. Arc then says everything will be fine and there is no need to check on them. The two then rush off to see Chilliam's dad. Mario and Luigi can then check on how Connie and Arc are doing, but the plan does not go as planned, due to the Glohm making Chilliam's dad hostile and uninterested in the wedding. Upset, both Connie and Arc flee the chief's vicinity and realize how dangerous Glohm is, distancing all of the residents and causing them to be angry all the time.

Mario and Luigi must speak with Connie and Arc once more. Connie asks the Bros. if the Glohmed residents are beyond help, giving them a choice of "yes" or "no". Choosing "no" allows the brothers to provide support and encouragement to them; Mario tells Connie that there is strength in gentle hearts, and Connie will make it come what may, while Luigi tells Arc that he is always cheerful, keeps everyone's spirits up, and that he is the Arc he knows. Both Connie and Arc regain their confidence, and Arc recalls something he heard when he got swept off to the Great Lighthouse Island; it is from Zokket, who wants to "gather more negative energy", and "spur on the revival". Arc fears that something worse will happen, while Connie wonders why negative energy is being gathered. Connie then decides to talk to Chilliam's dad one more time, as she wants the wedding to be a success and for everyone to be in harmony. Arc then tells the Bros. that they got this, and asks them to take care of the wedding preparations. He runs to join Connie's side, and the side quest is complete.
