A block form of floors[1] can be hit like most other blocks, but are reusable and unchangeable, comparably to how Brick Blocks behave when hit by Small Mario. These types of floors first appear in the Mario Bros. minigame in Super Mario Bros. 3, where they have a very similar appearance to and serve the same function as the original floors: spanning wide platforms that the player must hit from below to defeat the enemies on top. Unlike the original floors, these floors are significantly larger and only move as individual blocks, though the direction the enemy flips still depends on Mario or Luigi's position relative to the enemy rather than either to the block. Super Mario Bros. Wonder reintroduces floor blocks with a very different appearance, now gray with a large wavy dark gray stripe along their side. They behave much as they have before, though they can now be Ground Pounded from above and hit with thrown Gamboo or jars. Some floors dispense items when struck. After doing so, they remain as floors and can continue to be hit. They prominently feature in KO Arena levels as a means of defeating the targeted enemies.
