Arc's Secret is the fourth side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It is unlocked after defeating Gorumbla.

Side quest[edit]

When coming back to Shipshape Island after the second visit to Rumbla Island, Mario and Luigi find Connie and Arc next to the Uni-Tree. After understanding the reason of why the light from a Great Lighthouse came from the Shipshape Island's Uni-Tree, Arc says that the lighthouse is full of enemies, and Snoutlet asks why Arc was there. He remembers that, with his dad, they saw the various island floating from Raynforst Island. They were then suddenly captured by Snaptors and brought to the lighthouse, and Arc says that he doesn't remember much from this point on.

After the conversation is over, the player must reach Arc next to the cannon and talk with him to start the quest. Arc asks the Mario Bros. to find his spyglass that must be somewhere on Raynforst Island. When getting there, in a spot not far from where the plumbers first reached the island, two residents are scared of an Invizilizard that has occupied their favorite spot. Next to the enemy, a light is glowing; when the player gets closer, Scoutlet recognizes the glow as the spyglass they are searching, and so they fight the Invizilizard starting the battle with a Jump. When the enemy is defeated and the spyglass is now on Mario's hands, the brothers will have to go back to Shipshape Island and deliver the spyglass to Arc, who brings the player next to the cannon and starts narrating about the permanency of him and his father at Raynforst Island, right before they were captured, saying Cozette's name. After telling that, Arc remembers that it was his dad who put him in the capsule he was trapped initially.
