“Who left those Water Shooters on?! Hey, would you give that valve over there a twist and turn them off?”
Gearmo during The Floating Fortress, Super Mario Galaxy

Water Shooters are enemies appearing in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. They look like and function in a very similar manner to the Squirt Nozzle used by FLUDD in Super Mario Sunshine, though Water Shooters are blue, while FLUDD is yellow, and the water produced is in the form of a bubble, rather than a spray. These bubbles, while harmless, capture Mario or Luigi and whisk him away on contact, generally serving as a hindrance, but occasionally are used to transport the player elsewhere. If Mario or Luigi is caught in a bubble, using the spin breaks him out.

History[edit]

Water Shooters first appear in Super Mario Galaxy. Sometimes, they are not active until a certain goal is achieved, while some in the Buoy Base Galaxy are deactivated by spinning a valve. Since their bubbles count as water, Bee Mario and Boo Mario are reverted to normal Mario if caught in them.

Water Shooters return in Super Mario Galaxy 2. In the Space Storm Galaxy's second mission, they move abnormally fast, like most other obstacles in the mission, and can be slowed down with a blue switch. Bee Mario and Cloud Mario get reverted to normal Mario if caught in their bubbles.
