Variant of Shy Guy

Snow Guys, also known just as Shy Guys,[1] are mountain-dwelling Shy Guys with earmuffs and gloves. that inhabit Poochy & Nippy in Yoshi's Story. Their role is to fire snowballs at the Baby Yoshis from the background of the level, where they cannot be defeated. They come in red, yellow, green, and blue.

Snow Guys reappear in Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World. They have a new design where their robes are a parka similarly to the Ice Snifits introduced in the same games. These enemies appear in the main plane instead of in the background, so Yoshi can interact with them now. They can defeated identically to a normal Shy Guy. There are two types of Snow Guy. Both stand in place, creating and throwing white yarn balls meant to evoke snowballs. In either case, once they create a white yarn ball they are required to throw it. This happens even if Yoshi eats their yarn ball while it is still in their hands, resulting in the Snow Guy throwing nothing. Ones of random colors always left or right to match where Yoshi is and always throw their snowballs straight ahead in that direction. White Snow Guys only appear in rooms accessed by Warp Pipes. They don not face left or right to match Yoshi except as they are right about to throw. However, their white yarn balls are always thrown directly at Yoshi. Snow Guys appear only in A Little Light Snowfall.
