Flowers[1][2] are Semisolid Platforms from Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. They appear suspended in the air, unmoving. They recede when Mario makes contact with them, causing him to fall to the ground (or empty space) below. Like clouds, he can only stand on them while in his bee form. The flowers have lavender petals and look vaguely asteraceous.
The flowers only occur in levels that also feature the Bee Mushroom. In Super Mario Galaxy, they appear in Honeyhive Galaxy and Gold Leaf Galaxy. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, they appear in Honeybloom Galaxy and Honeyhop Galaxy. Enemies exclusive to Mario Galaxy 2 called Trapdragons bare a superficial resemblance to these flowers.
