Warp Box
- Not to be confused with Warp Block.
Template:Item-infobox Warp Boxes are cubic objects appearing in Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World. Warp Boxes are orange, outlined clear boxes with exclamation marks on the sides.
History
Super Mario series
Super Mario 3D Land
Warp Boxes first appear in Super Mario 3D Land. When Mario or Luigi run into a Warp Box, they are teleported to another Warp Box in another area, in a similar manner of Warp Pipes and Launch Stars. After the player comes out of a Warp Box, it may sometimes disappear, leaving Mario or Luigi with no way back.
In the early stages of the game, Warp Boxes were purple and some showed four diamonds as opposed to exclamation marks. However, the color was later given to Mystery Boxes.
Super Mario 3D World
Warp Boxes return in Super Mario 3D World, where they work just like they did in Super Mario 3D Land. There are also Warp Boxes that are trapped inside locked metal boxes, forcing Mario to get five Key Coins to make them available. Unlike in Super Mario 3D Land, they have the same sound effects as Mystery Boxes. When playing with multiple players, characters that do not enter the box a few seconds after one does are automatically pulled inside.

In Super Mario Maker 2, Warp Boxes can be placed in the Super Mario 3D World style. Locked Warp Boxes also appear.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Warp Boxes return in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, appearing in Clear Pipe Cruise (Wii U version only), Chaos in the Grand Labyrinth (Nintendo Switch version only), Mummy-Me Maze Forever and the 3 Coins Galore bonus level variants.
Mario Party series
Warp Boxes appear again in Mario Party: Star Rush, Mario Party: The Top 100, and Super Mario Party as usable items. When used, they warp the player to the space of a rival. In Super Mario Party's Partner Party mode, they instead warp the player to the space of their teammate.
Official description from Mario Party: The Top 100

Wish you could be where your rival is? This box lets you live that dream.
