Snoutlet School is the guide menu in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. The player can read through pop-up hints that have appeared throughout the game and practice Bros. Attacks like past Mario & Luigi games. In loading screens after battles, a random Snoutlet School hint appears in the top left of the screen which cannot be found in the menu.
List of loading screen hints
This is a list of hints that appear on the loading screens after battles.
- "When the game's autosaving, there'll be a little twirly thing in the upper right."
- "If you up your STACHE stat, you'll get more LUCKY results in battle."
- "You ever want to look at the whole area map? If so, tilt
on the Main Menu!"
- "You can equip gloves to power up the bros. There are lots to choose from, so pick the ones you like."
- "Equip accessories for all kinds of useful effects. They're pretty great."
- "You can buy items and gear at the shops. If you see a new shop, be sure to check it out."
- "If you see a ? Block, punch that sucker! There'll be coins or items in there."
- "So it turns out that there are talking turnips. Who knew? Maybe they know something useful?"
- "Did you know that some blocks are practically invisible? You gotta look real close to spot 'em."
- "Check out the shiny ground under the streetlamps on Bulbfish Island. There might be somethin' good."
- "When a lighthouse's Connectar Flower blooms, sometimes a new path shows up!"
- "Those sparkles you see around are Sprite Bulb nests. If you see one, pull it out and catch all the Sprite Bulbs!"
- "You can break wooden boxes with a hammer. And if you CAN smash it, you probably SHOULD smash it, eh?"
- "Watch your HP and BP gauges! Try to keep some recovery items on hand in case they get low."
- "When you see weird-shaped reefs out at sea, let Issa Rock know. She's really into those."
- "Stuck? Can't go forward? Try using a Bros. Move."
- "When you get materials from enemies, bring 'em to the workshop and see if you can make new gear."
- "If you go fishing from Shipshape, you might catch something other than fish!"
- "Find any islets yet? You can check those out with a trip in the big cannon."
- "Have you revisited any of the islands you already linked? There might be new stuff to see and do there!"
- "Depending on what sea you're in and what bait you're using, you'll catch different fish. Try experimenting!"
- "If you don't know where to go, head toward the red mark on the map. Always trust a red mark."
- "The person who takes care of the Uni-Tree is called a Wattanist. Fancy!"
- "Eavesdroppin's rude, but the ladies on Shipshape have really useful, important info, you know?"
- "Some side quests have a time limit. Might want to put a rush on those, you know?"
- "If you ever forget the controls, just open up Settings & Guide, then Snoutlet School."
- "You can equip one each of gloves and accessories, so choose wisely."
- "Boots'll boost your Jump attacks. Crush those enemies with your best footwear!"
- "You can use Beans to permanently increase Mario or Luigi's stats. Cool, eh?"
- "Every time you Rank Up, you get to pick a bonus ability. They're all pretty useful."
- "Sneak attack an enemy while they're still moving around, and you'll get a first strike when the battle starts."
- "Look, sometimes surviving is winning. Don't forget that you can run away from a battle with the Flee command."
- "If you can't dodge, use an Emergency Guard. It'll at least reduce the damage taken."
- "If either bro. gets KO'd in battle, be sure to use an item and get him back up ASAP!"
- "If an enemy sneak attacks you from behind, you'll start the battle in an exposed position. Try not to do that."
- "You can tell if it's Mario or Luigi getting attacked by watching the bad guy's movements real carefully."
- "Watch out when the enemy is guarding—you might take some damage when you jump on 'em."
- "Some gear'll give you special effects. If you get one, pay attention and try to use it well."
- "If Luigi gets one of his ideas in a battle, it's usually a chance to deal some big damage."
- "If you want to practice Bros. Attacks, I gotcha covered. Go to the menu and select Snoutlet School."
- "If your Bros. Attacks need work, watch the demo and practice."
- "The materials enemies drop are the ingredients to make new gear."
- "If you're worried about how your gear and level stack up, talk to the advisor trio on Shipshape."
- "You can't set a Battle Plug that's recharging. Keep fighting and wait until it's recharged."
- "Look, a battle just goes better if you remember to set your Battle Plugs beforehand."
- "When the bad guys are flying, you gotta jump on 'em. You can't reach that high with your hammer."
- "Some enemies are real poke-y, and it hurts to stomp 'em. That's when you bring down the hammer!"
- "Watch for the enemies that shoot projectiles! You get hit with one of those, and you'll have to fight them."
- "If you combine your Battle Plugs right, you can make battles waaay easier."
- "If you take damage from one o' them Glohmed enemies, you might get Glohmed yourself. Watch it!"
- "When you're Glohmed, you can't work together with your bro. to attack! Clear it up with an Ampberry."
- "Watch your rhythm when you're kicking those Red Shells. As you get closer to enemies, it'll change."
- "With the Green Shell, watch the bouncing shell real close and kick it with the right timing."
- "With Bomb Derby, you gotta throw the next bomb at the right tempo, just before Mario hits the last one."
- "Move fast so Luigi doesn't miss the Jump Helmet. Try to aim at his feet while he's falling."
- "Finish off the enemy by hitting the right button for each bro. when you're using Clockout Blow."
- "With Yoo Who Cannon, if you can't do it all, try remembering just one of the brother's locations."
- "Timing is super important for Hatch Me if You Can. Don't let that egg outta your sight!"
- "If you can get a good rhythm going with the Zapperator, you can make a real big cloud."
- "With Conductor Connector, try to get ahead of the satellites and aim with the target to hit 'em easier."
- "With Max-Mix Vortex, the key is to aim so that the fire and ice don't hit each other."
Boss-specific hints
The following hints only appear when retrying a boss battle after losing.
- "See where Gorumbla is guarding before you attack."
- "When Gorumbla slides in to attack, counter by jumping onto his head."
- "Knock the falling blocks back at Gorumbla. Pay attention to what direction he's facing though."
- "Watch for when Gobblick lifts up its arms. Swing your hammer when it's vulnerable."
- "When Gobblick spits objects from its mouth, it'll give you a heads-up first by slapping its belly."
- "Gobblick's arms light up when they're about to swing. Watch for that and be ready to dodge."
- "When Mega Snaptor is flying, you'll have to use Jump attacks—your hammers can't reach."
- "When Mega Snaptor isn't flying, it will use its beak to attack. Stay calm and counter."
- "With the whirlwind attack, watch the differences in speed. Wait until the last moment to dodge the low ones!"
- "When Sharpcask is about to throw a barrel at you, watch how it raises its arms and avoid the attack!"
- "If Sharpcask gets close to you with a box, use your hammer as it's bending backward."
- "There's no point in attacking Sharpcask while it's guarding. Find an opening with Luigi Logic!"
- "If Pipegunk has Burn or Ice status, you'll be hurt when using Jump attacks."
- "Keep jumping off the lava that Pipegunk spits onto the floor to avoid damage."
- "If Pipegunk has Ice status and disappears, you can see it if you look closely."
- "Ground pounds make a powerful impact. Time your jumps to land when Bowser hits the ground!"
- "If you land on Shy Guy's iron ball, it will be easier to dodge Bowser's fire."
- "When Bowser summons his minions, it's about to get tough. Try to defeat him quickly with Bros. Attacks."
- "Sometimes Bowser calms down when attacked. When this happens, use Luigi Logic!"
- "If the Glohm area expands too much, things will get much more difficult. Find a way to get away from it."
- "That airship in the sky... Did Luigi have a flash of inspiration?"
- "Taking away your Battle Plugs seems harsh, even for a trial. The Great Conductor is strict!"
- "When you break a fake cap, this is what happens... Try again!"
- "If using the same Bros. Attack doesn't work, try out some others, especially ones you need practice at!"
- "If Ecks steals one of your Battle Plugs, you can't use it in battle."
- "Wait—the PunishMush Plug won't even let you use Mushrooms from a plug?"
- "The Invincible Plug seems really powerful...if you can survive the big explosion it causes."
- "Watch out when Zokket spreads his cape. His attack power will get a big boost!"
- "After stopping attacks from a brainwashed bro., attacking them will not remove their brainwashed status!"
- "Use an Ampberry if you get Glohmed. If you're not careful, you'll get mind controlled."
- "Deal quickly with the Doom Bloom's shots. If you can see clearly, you won't bump into things as much."
- "If I get swallowed by a Doom Bloom, you can't use Luigi Logic."
- "The Doom Blooms will keep growing and growing. Use Luigi Logic to take them down a peg."
- "If Weeping Reclusa throws you, your brother can catch you as long as he's still on the ground."
- "If the brothers are together, they can hit Weeping Reclusa's fireballs back at him."
- "You'll take damage if you attack the Weeping Core with a jump. Try some other attacks."
- "Don't be fooled by how the Weeping Core moves—watch for the speed and direction of the spike."
- "If the Weeping Core charges at you, alternate hammer blows to fend it off."
- "Even if the brothers turn to stone, don't give up. If you survive the attack, you'll turn back to normal."
- "Watch the markings on the Reclusa copies' faces to see which brother will be attacked."
- "When Reclusa is low on health, he'll start to panic. That's when to hit him with everything you've got!"
