Mikey Mines[1][2] also appear in Super Mario Galaxy. They come in two versions. The underwater version moves on a vertical chain and regenerate themselves after detonation. The space version, also known as Space Mines,[1] appears as featureless spiked balls. They are usually immobile but sometimes move vertically or horizontally. They can be defeated if they are shot with a Star Bit.
Both types also appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2, where they look and act the same as in the predecessor. In this game, Yoshi cannot eat them. Some may release coins, 1-Up Mushrooms, or Star Bits.
