Vancouver is the largest city in British Columbia, Canada, and the largest city on the west coast of the country as a whole.
Vancouver also appears on the Globulator, a world map in Mario is Missing!, but is not visitable in the game, even though Montreal and Toronto are locations in the Nintendo Entertainment System and Microsoft Disk Operating System versions, respectively.
History
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Vancouver was the location of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and thus was also the main setting of the game Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. Many mountains are located near the city, including Whistler Mountain and Cypress Mountain, which hosted several Olympic events both in the game and in real life. Other venues which appear in the game include the Vancouver Olympic Centre, Canada Hockey Place, Pacific Coliseum, and Richmond Olympic Oval.
Mario Kart Tour
Three courses based on Vancouver appear in Mario Kart Tour. The first course Vancouver Velocity was introduced as the signature course of the Vancouver Tour. The second course Vancouver Velocity 2 later made its debut as the signature course in the Penguin Tour. The third course Vancouver Velocity 3 was introduced in the 2022 Autumn Tour.
