Mikey Mines[1][2] are a type of mine that appears in Super Mario Galaxy. They come in two versions. The underwater ones move on a vertical chain and regenerate themselves after detonation. The space ones, also known as Space Mines,[1] appear as featureless spiked balls. They are usually immobile but sometimes move vertically or horizontally. They can be defeated if they are shot with a Star Bit.
Both types also appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2, where they look and act the same as in the predecessor. In this game, Yoshi cannot eat them. Some may release coins, 1-Up Mushrooms, or Star Bits.
