Athletics is an Event class that appears in several instalments of the Mario & Sonic series. In the series' earlier games, Athletics is split into two subclasses, Track events, which consists of events that involve running, and Field events, which comprise of throwing and jumping events, however in the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, all of the Athletics events are grouped into a single class.
