A Paratroopea is a winged Troopea that appears in the Beanbean Kingdom in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. They resemble Paratroopas, only they are four-footed and have sprouts on the tops of their heads. Paratroopeas are sometimes assisted by Bob-ombs, and in turn, Paratroopeas occasionally appear alongside Tanoombas in battle. Their main attack consists in swooping down at Mario or Luigi, but the plumbers can easily dodge it by watching the Paratroopea's shadow on the floor and jumping. If the Paratroopea dips a little before flying into the sky, it targets Luigi. If not, its target is Mario. Paratroopeas are able to heal all other enemies in battle by creating water droplets that land on their injured allies. When Paratroopeas take enough damage, they lose their wings and become regular Troopeas.

A stronger version of Paratroopeas appear when the Bros. progress further Joke's End; they are called Scaratroopeas and have orange shells.

Paratroopeas reappear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, where they are redesigned to wear shoes and fly upright. They appear as enemies in Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser, where they are first fought in the level Don't Fear Flying Foes. They are Flying troopers, and attack by ramming into opponents. Their Special Skill, Cranium Crush, allows them to fly above an opponent and slam down on them.

Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser bio: They strongly resemble Koopa Paratroopas. The leaves on their heads are good luck.
