Elite Dry Bones are enemies in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake. They appear in Teehee Valley on the path to Popple's hideout, and are stronger counterparts to Dry Bones found along Hoohoo Mountain. Elite Dry Bones have a similar appearance, with the addition of shells and a slightly purple tint all over their body.

The original English localization simply named it Dry Bones, though it was named differently in other languages, such as Garon in Japanese, which was also the name used by Prima Games.[1] The remake gives the Elite Dry Bones its current name.

Battle[edit]

Elite Dry Bones use the same head-tossing attack as their Hoohoo Mountain counterparts, dealing more damage and possibly poisoning the Mario Bros. if it connects. The enemy's shell also reduces damage from any non-jump attacks to one; it can also use the Troopea's tackle attack, which can still be countered by jumping and used to deflect its shell back at other enemies.

In the 3DS remake, Elite Dry Bones may occasionally rattle their heads in their idle animation.
