- This article is about an enemy in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. For a similar enemy from Super Mario World, see Fish Bone.
Jean de Fillet[1] is a skeleton Cheep Cheep that lives in both water and lava. It appears in two levels of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, the new Endless World of Yoshis stage in Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, and also appears in Yoshi's New Island. Despite being a Cheep Cheep's skeleton, it is far larger than the Cheep Cheeps of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Jean de Fillets stick their heads out of the water or lava, then jump out. They can be defeated with a well timed egg throw. In Yoshi's New Island, they are slightly smaller, and appear in World 4-8: Furious Fred de Fillet's Castle, along with a boss version named Furious Fred de Fillet. Their name comes from "fillet", a boneless cut of meat (usually fish).
