- Not to be confused with Chain Chomplet.
Chomp Pups are small Chomps that appear in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. They act exactly like their bigger counterparts but are smaller and have high-pitched barks. In Super Mario Galaxy, they appear only in Dreadnought Galaxy, and there is a big amount, making the mission harder. When all the panels have been turned into yellow, they turn into Star Bits, allowing the player to continue. Some Chomp Pups (such as the ones in Chompworks Galaxy) can go in a circular line, something that normal Chomp Heads cannot.
However, regardless of their size, they are still invincible besides getting hit by Rainbow Mario, getting hit by a Stretch Plant and holding them with the Co-op Player so they run into each other. They release Star Bits when defeated.

Trivia
- The sound that the Chomp Pups make when they bark is similar to the sounds that Chain Chomplets make.
