Koopa Beach 1 is the first course of the Star Cup in Super Mario Kart. It was subsequently reused in Mario Kart: Super Circuit as the third track of the Extra Lightning Cup. It is set on a series of sandbanks in the middle of a blue sea.
The course returns in Mario Kart World located next to Koopa Beach 2 in the world map.
Super Mario Kart
Course layout

It is a very short course, being the shortest one in Super Mario Kart, and takes place on a set of small islands. Its hazards consist of Cheep Cheeps and green 'rough' sections of the beach which slow karts down. The course's layout is composed of several right turns and areas where racers must briefly drive through shallow water. The shallow water will only slow racers down a bit, but the deep dark-blue water must be avoided. A few jump pads also appear along the track. Towards the end of the track, racers must go to the left or right of a rough section of the beach; ? Panels can be found on both sides. An extra ? Panel also appears on the right side, just off the edge of the beach.
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
The course reappeared in Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and is the third track of the Extra Lightning Cup. It uses the background from Shy Guy Beach, including the pirate ship. The Cheep Cheeps and jump pads were removed, as were the Item Boxes on the right side of the second-to-last island.
Glitches
By turning right towards the inside of the course immediately after the finish line, the player is able to drift and hop (with the assistance of a Dash Mushroom) in a circle, returning to the area immediately before the finish line. By crossing it, a full lap is counted. This exploit skips almost all of the course.[1]

Koopa Beach 1 returns in Mario Kart World, marking the course's 3D debut, and the course's first appearance overall in twenty-four years. The course, however, is not a dedicated race course in any Grand Prix. Instead, it is featured in the game's world map, located in the bay in the south, next to Koopa Beach 2 (known as "Koopa Troopa Beach" in this game), which is a course in a Grand Prix. Koopa Beach 1 can be traversed in Free Roam mode and in Knockout Tour. A Yoshi's restaurant has been added on top of the seaweed patch.
Unlike Koopa Beach 2, the course has received very little modifications to its appearance. It is one of five SNES courses to appear in the world map as parts of intermissions, alongside Choco Island 2, Vanilla Lake 1, and Ghost Valleys 1, 2, and 3.
