The Leaf Cup is a cup that appears in the games Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, and Mario Kart 8. The cup has the emblem of the Super Leaf originally from Super Mario Bros. 3 (Super Mario 3D Land for Mario Kart 7 and 8) on it. In the Leaf Cup, the player competes certain race courses from previous Mario Kart games. The Leaf Cup usually contains tracks from the Flower Cup, Star Cup, and Special Cup, though Mario Kart DS featured a sole track from the Super Circuit Lightning Cup and Mario Kart 7 featured a sole Mushroom Cup course. The Leaf Cup is slightly more difficult when compared to the Banana Cup. Just like the Star Cup, the tracks are usually as long as the ones in the Flower Cup and the Banana Cup. However, its difficulty is on par with the Star Cup.

Trivia
- Like the Shell and Banana Cups, this cup has always had a course from Mario Kart 64.
- It is also the only cup to always have a course from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.
- Mario Kart DS is the only game in which this cup did not have any Star Cup courses. Similarly, Mario Kart 7 is the only game in which this cup had no tracks from the Special Cup.
- The Leaf Cup trophy in Mario Kart 8 has a backwards silhouette of Tanooki Mario's artwork from Super Mario 3D Land behind it, with the tail molded to stick out from behind.
- In NTSC versions of Mario Kart 8, the Leaf Cup is the only Retro Cup that doesn't have a track with an alliterative name (e.g. Moo Moo Meadows, Dry Dry Desert and Rainbow Road / Piranha Plant Pipeway). This does not apply to PAL versions of the game, where Music Park is instead named Melody Motorway.
