Appears in Mario Kart Wii

The Piranha Prowler is a large kart that appears in Mario Kart Wii. The character's emblem is on the kart's forehead and seen on both sides of the vehicle. The kart resembles the Piranha Plant, specifically Petey Piranha, with Funky Kong's color scheme resembling him the most. In addition, Bowser's Piranha Prowler resembles the Pit Plant from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, while the female Mii's and Donkey Kong's resemble the two different Dino Piranhas from Super Mario Galaxy. Based on its antique interior gauges, covered rear wheels, and sheer size, it appears to be based on convertible automobiles from the 1940s, specifically luxury vehicles like the Cadillac Series 62. If the player closely examines the rear, they can see a petal that functions like a fishtail spoiler (common on antique vehicles) as well as exhaust pipes that are actually small green pipes. The kart can be unlocked by winning the 50cc Special Cup, or by playing 600 races.

This kart does not have a bike counterpart for its size class, though the lightweight Jet Bubble has a similar stat distribution. Coincidentally, the Piranha Prowler and Jet Bubble are the heaviest kart and bike in their respective size classes. It is one of six vehicles that does not have a counterpart for its size class, the other five being the Blue Falcon, Jet Bubble, Classic Dragster, Phantom, and Zip Zip.

The mouth of the kart opens up when driving; this is most noticeable when it spins out, the player does a trick or blasted out of the cannon in GCN DK Mountain, DK Summit and Maple Treeway, the speed jump in N64 DK's Jungle Parkway and the Launch Star in Rainbow Road.

The Piranha Prowler is the heaviest vehicle in the game. Having the highest weight stat in the game allows it to not only push around lighter vehicles with ease, but also jump at the lowest angle out of any vehicle in the game. It also has good speed, but its other stats are rather low. However, despite most of the Piranha Prowler's stats being below average, they exceed that of the Jetsetter kart.

The Piranha Prowler's acceleration is tied with the Sneakster, Mini Beast, and Shooting Star, the first of which also has the same mini-turbo. Its handling and off-road are tied with the Bullet Bike. Its drift is tied with the Sugarscoot. Its speed is tied with the Mach Bike and the Mini Beast.

Bowser's Piranha Prowler has the highest possible weight stat in the game.
