This land is ruled by King Sammer. It is most notable for being the location of the Duel of 100 tournament, in which challengers face off against 100 Sammer Guys. Only the first 25 Sammer Guys are faced in Chapter 6-1, while the rest are encountered in the three other chapters. However, in the main story, only the first 20 Sammer Guys are battled, and only 30 Sammer Guys are encountered.

Mario passed through the Blue Door and arrived at a tranquil courtyard of a pagoda-topped palace. The beauty was soon forgotten though, as Tippi quickly realized that the Void was larger here than it was anywhere they had been before; it wouldn't be long before the Void would consume the dimension.

Using a door on the other side of a peaceful creek, Mario passed through the palace's walls and came into a grassy stadium. Atop the arena he was stopped by an eccentric warrior. The warrior, named Jade Blooper, immediately attacked Mario. Jade Blooper stood no chance however, and was quickly defeated. Jade Blooper stated that he was the Sammer Guy that guarded the 1st Gate, as if Mario knew what he was talking about. Tippi was utterly baffled, and inquired on what the Sammer Guy meant.

It was then that an excited, short man hustled onto the arena. He was King Sammer, ruler of Sammer's Kingdom. King Sammer cheered for Mario's success against Jade Blooper, and then explained that he believed Mario was the chosen one who would save the kingdom from the Void. King Sammer held the dimension's Pure Heart; however, he refused to hand it over so easily. As precautions (and, being an excitable king, to also have some fun), King Sammer declared that Mario could not set a finger on the Pure Heart until he defeated all 100 Sammer Guys in the challenging Duel of 100. Saying that this year's Duel of 100 would be quite interesting with Mario as the contestant, King Sammer returned to his palace at the end of the 100th gate to watch the tournament from afar.
History
Background
According to Garson of the Flipside bar, The Underwhere, 1,500 years prior to the events of Super Paper Mario, the younger sister of Merlumina was entrusted with a Pure Heart, to give to the Sammer Kingdom's ruler to protect. Upon meeting however, Merlumina's sister and the Sammer King fell in love and she stayed behind. The two eventually married and had 100 children. Ever since, the number 100 has been sacred to the Sammer Kingdom.

All did not go as planned, however. Shortly after beating the 20th vassal, Rolling Thwomp, Count Bleck appeared and announced that Sammer's Kingdom's time was very short. Tippi caught Count Bleck mentioning somebody named Lady Timpani, whom the count had loved. The name rang a bell, but before Tippi could inquire more, the count left.

Rolling Thwomp began to panic, and in seconds he ran off to warn King Sammer of the danger. In doing so, Rolling Thwomp knocked down the remaining Sammer Guys, allowing Mario to easily run to the second quarter of the tournament.
But not all hope was lost: two Pure Hearts had yet to be found.

Could our daring heroes find them? Or was the world doomed to be devoured?

Mario, Peach, and Bowser reached the second quarter where King Sammer decided to give them the Pure Heart in a chest. However, the chest really contained a bomb, which did not harm the heroes at all. The "King Sammer" they met at the beginning of the second quarter was really Mimi in disguise. Her intent was to get in their way and distract them. Though they defeated her, she succeeded in slowing them down and teleported away. Mario advanced through the stages until the world was sucked into nothingness by The Void. Somehow, Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Tippi survived, reappearing at Flipside Tower.

Trivia
Trivia
*As with King Sammer and the Sammer Guys, the name Sammer's Kingdom is a pun on the word Samurai.
*During the battle, as the players advance to the next sub-chapter, the number of flags seen on the stage will increase by one (i.e. one flag on every stage of Chapter 6-1, two in Chapter 6-2, and so on).
*The design of Sammer's Kingdom is based on Japanese pagodas. Despite Nintendo being a Japanese company, this is the one of the first times anything relating to Japanese culture has made a major appearance in a Mario game.
*When the player tries to go to Gate 2 after completing the Duel of 100, they will discover that the door leading there cannot be used, as if it has become part of the background. When Tattle is used on the door, Tiptron will say the door is sealed, which might be because the other Gates disappeared, and they are currently working on the water amusement park there. Oddly, when the player uses Tattle on the very same door while in 3-D, Tiptron will say the player can open it by pressing wii, the same as her Tattle of any door.
*Certain Sammer Guys study the arts of various enemies, although their styles are not similar to the enemies at all. Some of these include the Goomba, the Cheep-Cheep and the Chain Chomp.

*After defeating Mimi in 6-2, the theme switches from Battle Time to the main Sammer's Kingdom track, which is unusual.

Sammer's Kingdom is the setting of Chapter 6 in Super Paper Mario, and is the namesake of Chapter 6-1. It is discovered after placing the sixth Pure Heart in the Heart Pillar and going through the blue door. It is destroyed by The Void in the main story, leaving nothing but an empty white space, but is restored after the story's end.

In addition to the Duel of 100, Tippi and Tiptron's Tattles mention various other events held in the Sammer's Kingdom, such as the Sammer Guy Break Hour, the annual Sammer Guy BBQ, the Sammy Awards, and the annual Sammer Quiz; however, Mario and friends are unable to attend any of these in person.

The kingdom appears to be based on Japan, with "Sammer Guy" being a pun on "samurai".
