Mikey Mines[1][2] are obstacles in Super Mario Galaxy. These mines come in two versions. The underwater ones move on a vertical chain and regenerate themselves after detonation. The space ones, also known as Space Mines,[1] appear as featureless spiked balls. They are usually immobile but sometimes move vertically or horizontally. They can be defeated if from a Star Bit.
Both types also appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2, where they look and act the same as in the predecessor. In this game, Yoshi cannot eat them. Some may release coins, 1-Up Mushrooms, or Star Bits.
