The Retro Off-Road tires are a set of unlockable tires in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. They are a white and red variant of the Off-Road tires with similar colors to a Japanese Famicom. Like other palette-swapped tires in the game, the stats these tires offer are identical to the other version, with these tires providing no advantages or disadvantages. They have the same stats as the Standard, Blue Standard, Off-Road and the GLA Tires.
In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Retro Off-Road tires still share their stats with the Off-Road tires, but the only other tires they share their stats with are the Triforce Tires. As a result, the Retro Off-Road tires now boost the Ground Speed, Water Speed, Weight and Traction stats while reducing the Acceleration, Ground Handling, Water Handling, Anti-Gravity Handling and Mini-Turbo stats.
The Retro Off-Road tires return in Mario Kart Tour, used by the Badwagon, White Turbo Yoshi, and the White Turbo Birdo. A green and blue-rimmed version is used by the Green Lightning and White Fast Frank.
