==Overview==
The solo player is inside a small box while the team is inside large boxes. The solo player must avoid being crushed by the team players. The team players can cover more area than the solo player with each roll, but to counter this disadvantage, the solo player moves much more quickly than the team players. If the solo player lasts for thirty seconds, he/she wins, but if he/she is squished before then, the team wins. Even if the solo player is squished when the time limit hits zero seconds, the team still wins.

Squared Away is a 1-vs.-3 minigame found in Mario Party 5, Mario Party: The Top 100, and Mario Party Superstars. Its name is a play on an expression used to refer to one who is skilled and ready to accomplish their tasks.

Overview[edit]

Squared Away from Mario Party Superstars
Gameplay from Mario Party Superstars

The minigame opens with tiles falling onto the ground, depicting Thwomp in the Mario Party 5 version only,[1] then the players, who are represented as cubes.

The solo player is a small cube that moves around the board, depicting a pattern of either Mario, a heart, a Cheep Cheep, a Yoshi Egg, a blue Fire Flower, a Goomba, or a Mushroom; however, later versions include only the Mario variation. The goal is for the solo player to avoid being crushed by any of the team players, who are represented as larger but slower cubes. If a team player crushes the solo player before time runs out, they win, otherwise the solo player does.

Wario gets crushed in the Squared Away minigame in Mario Party 5.
Wario losing in Mario Party 5

The minigame ends in Mario Party 5 with Thwomps chasing the losers while the winning side poses on a golden Thwomp. Mario Party Superstars simply shows the winners and losers perform their respective poses.
