Underwater rings are objects in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 that quickly propel the player character when they pass through them. Underwater rings are orange and yellow, with red outer rims. In the Prima Games guidebook for Super Mario Galaxy 2, they are referred to as "zipper gates".[1]
