Jam-o'-Wars[1][2] (also referred to generically as jellyfish)[3] are enemies in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. Their name is taken from the Portuguese man o' war, a hydrozoan resembling a jellyfish. They are large blue variants of Jammyfish. If Mario or Luigi comes in contact with one, he is shocked. Jam-o'-Wars can be defeated only by hitting them two times with a Koopa Shell. After they are attacked once, they glow green but do not act any more aggressively. In Super Mario Galaxy, they appear in the Deep Dark Galaxy and the Bigmouth Galaxy, and they give one coin when defeated. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, a Jam-o'-War appears in the Cosmic Cove Galaxy, instead giving ten Star Bits upon defeat.
