Buckets, also referred to as ? Buckets,[1] are objects appearing in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (and its reissue), Yoshi's Island DS, and Yoshi's New Island. They tend to appear in fort or castle areas and levels, beginning with Burt The Bashful's Fort. These buckets can be found hanging on walls or ceilings, and the Yoshis can knock them down by throwing an egg at them, producing coins or enemies. Some levels have buckets positioned over a body of water or lava, and knocking one down allows the Yoshi to cross that area by using the bucket until they reach the other end.

In Yoshi's Story, buckets have the appearance of wooden wash basins and are found only already in the water during a section of Neuron Jungle. They are used in the same way, though they cannot pass through certain sections off the river under short platforms (which Yoshis can still swim through).
