Template:Quote2 The Hammer Bros. Sphinx[sic][1][2] is a landmark based on the Great Sphinx of Giza that can be seen in desert-themed courses of the Mario Kart series. It only ever appears as a background element, alongside other statues with Hammer Bro visages. It is speculated to be cursed.[1]
History
Mario Kart series
The Hammer Bros. Sphinx first appears in the Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe rendition of Template:Classic-link, replacing the generic sphinx from the course's Mario Kart: Double Dash!! version. It is located near the bend immediately after the oasis. The statue returns in the Mario Kart Tour rendition of Wii Dry Dry Ruins, located in the vicinity of the branching path between the finish line and the oasis; here, it replaces one of the Yoshi sphinx statues from the Mario Kart Wii version of the course.
Mario Tennis Aces
Small statues based on the Hammer Bros. Sphinx adorn the surroundings of the Bask Ruins court in Mario Tennis Aces.
