Template:Species-infobox A Paratroopea is an enemy that appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. They are winged Troopeas and the Beanbean equivalent of Paratroopas; they appear as quadrupeds in the original game, and are bipedal with shoes in the remake.
Paratroopeas appear in the northern and the eastern beach areas of Beanbean Fields in the overworld, where they will swoop at the Mario Bros. on sight. They are often accompanied by Bob-ombs, and occasionally appear in battles with Tanoombas. A stronger variant, the Scaratroopea, is found later on in Joke's End. In the remake, one Paratroopea is seen lined up to audition for the role of Popple's new partner, but is turned down like the others save for Birdo.
Battle
The Paratroopea's main attack is swooping down at Mario or Luigi, which can be dodged and countered by jumping. If the Paratroopea dips a little before flying into the sky, it targets Luigi; otherwise, its target is Mario. Paratroopeas can also heal all other enemies in battle by spraying water droplets on them. When Paratroopeas take enough damage, they lose their wings and become regular Troopeas.
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, Paratroopeas appear as enemies in Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser, where they are first fought in the level Don't Fear Flying Foes. They are Flying troopers, and attack by ramming into opponents. Their Special Skill, Cranium Crush, allows them to fly above an opponent and slam down on them.
