Thudley, Super Paper Mario

Template:Character-infobox Thudley is a partner Pixl in Super Paper Mario for the Wii, and the fifth Pixl found in the game. Mario and his party encounter him in the Tile Pool located in the Bitlands. His ability is to give the power to Ground Pound. On his Catch Card, which is found on the fiftieth level of the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials, it was revealed he was a former wrestling star; such a thing is also hinted at in Tippi's tattle of him. He counts "girth points" but he, along with Thoreau, Boomer and Fleep, may or may not know the right way to count.

Trivia

  • In a Nintendo Power article about the Pixls, Thudley states that he's saving up to get his eyes surgically realigned (said due to artwork). However his eyes are perfectly in line in his in game appearance.
  • Oddly Thudley is always shown frowning, but whenever the player uses his move, it shows that Thudley is smiling. This probably shows that he only enjoys the use of his move.
  • Thudley is the only Pixl whose eyes appear OUTSIDE of his body, rather than inside like most Pixls.

Card Type: Rare

Card Description: This former wrestling-star Pixl can pound the ground. A hip replacement kept him out of high-end competition.

Girth Points

Just before he joins the group, Thudley does a girth check on the three heroes that were in action at the moment. Here are the results he gives out; ironically, Peach gets the most girth points (1,000,170) and Bowser gets the least (10,150) while Mario gets 2nd place (10,160).

Girth check Mario Peach Bowser
Face "Looks like you're sportin' a beefy 'stashe, there. Solid! I give it 60 girth points." "Look at those big eyes! You make my girthy heart flutter, girl. Those eyes of yours have got some heavy to 'em! You get 70 girth points!" "Dude has shaggy eyebrows! That's not even kinda girthy! You get 50 girth points."
Clothes "Overalls?! Man, only the brawniest heroes wear those! That's worth 100 girth points!" "A pink dress?! It takes guts to wear that here. Bam! There's 100 girth points!" "What's more girthy than a giant spiky shell?! That's worth 100 girth points!"
Body "Woah, ho ho! You might be small, but you pack a punch of girth! Girth is a state of mind! You just got yourself another 10,000 girth points!" "Unbelievable! You might be a slender thing, but you got a beefy spirit, girl! I wouldn't mess with a chick like you! You get 1,000,000 girth points!" "Look at this guy! Look him up in the dictionary, and he's the definition of girth! A superheavyweight right here! Bam... 10,000 girth points!"

Trivia

  • Thudley looks like a 100-ton steel block, such as those seen in classic cartoons using slapstick humor.
  • His name refers to the word "thud", onomatopoeia for a weight falling.
  • Thudley retired from wrestling after a hip-replacement operation, despite the fact that he doesn't have legs. This could mean he either lost them in the accident, or his days as a wrestler came before his spirit's transferration to a Pixl vessel.
  • Thudley's powers are similar to that of the Super Boots' powers from previous Paper Mario games.
