Variant of Snaggles

Yellow Snaggles,[1] also referred to as simply Snaggles[2] or Nibbles,[3] are variants of Snaggles who appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns (and its Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch ports) and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (and its Nintendo Switch port). They are yellow and have stripes like those of tiger sharks.

History[edit]

Snaggles are enemies in Donkey Kong Country Returns and its Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch ports. They are encountered in the Beach world and some other levels, including Damp Dungeon. Like regular Snaggles, they leap out of the water at regular intervals, but quickly follow with an additional, higher leap without signaling it. Snaggles can only be defeated with a barrel. If Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong touch a Snaggles, they lose a heart from their health meter. Snaggles make dog-like noises while jumping out of the water, just like regular Snaggles.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze[edit]

Yellow Snaggles are enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They are encountered in underwater areas only, where they chase after the Kongs, and therefore do not jump out of the water. They are found in Shoal Atoll and Panicky Paddles. Yellow Snaggles can be defeated with Cranky Kong's underwater cane attack or by throwing a projectile at it, such as a barrel, a Watermelon Fuse Bomb, or a Tuff Tucks, while on land.
