- “If you want to be happy, save up your coins before tying the knot! Don't go wasting them all on frivolous things like cards.”
- —Gertrude, Super Paper Mario
Gertrude is a 78-year-old resident of the city of Flopside in the Wii game Super Paper Mario. Her Flipside counterpart is Gladys. According to her tattle by Tippi (or Tiptron), she has been married to Harold for sixty years. At the end of the game, she states that she received her wedding ring from her husband as a gift for their 60th wedding anniversary (her first gift from him) and goes on to say that marriages are harder than some think.
Tattle[edit]
- "That's Gertrude, Harold's wife... She's endured struggles at her husband's side... This 78-year-old has been thinking more and more about their relationship..."
