Green Gloves, also referred to as a Green Glove Baseball Boy,[1] are green Bandits that hold baseball gloves in the games Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, its Game Boy Advance version, and Yoshi's Island DS. Green Gloves are the catchers of the Baseball Boys, and use teamwork with their yellow-colored counterparts, Sluggers. If Yoshi throws an egg toward one, they will catch the egg, aim at Yoshi, and throw it back at a high speed. If Yoshi is hit, it can knock him off a platform and into a bottomless pit or spikes. Ground Pounding their heads or stepping on them thrice will defeat them. However, they are immune to a Yoshi's tongue, so eating them is impossible. They can also be used to reach items like Flowers that are out of reach by ricocheting an egg off a wall.

In the Yoshi's Island DS Island Museum, there are five Green Gloves and two Egg Plants.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a Green Glove and a Slugger appear as a spirit.

Profiles and statistics[edit]

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]

  • Shogakukan guide: タマゴをキャッチして投げ返してくる。コントロールはなかなか。3回踏むか、ヒップドロップで倒せる。[2](It catches eggs and throws them back. Control is not so easy. 3 stomps or a Hip Drop will take it down.)
  • Player's Guide: Always looking for an egg to play catch with, Green Glove's favorite pitch is the high hard one.[3]
  • Shogakukan guide: タマゴをキャッチして投げ返す。バットくんと同様に、投げてきたタマゴは痛くないが、強くはじき飛ばされる。倒し方もバットくんと同じだ。[4](It catches eggs and throws them back. Like Slugger, the eggs thrown are not painful, but they fling you away strongly. The method of defeating them is the same as that of Slugger.)
