Zeus Guys[1] are relatives of Bandits that appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, as well as Yoshi's New Island. They are named after Zeus, the Greek god of lightning, possibly due to their ability to charge up balls of energy to attack from a distance.
Zeus Guys are usually found in pairs, charging and firing balls of energy towards Yoshi, with these projectiles traveling at a moderate speed in a horizontal straight line, able to pass through walls. While doing this, they slowly inch towards their target, jumping when necessary and breaking any obstacles in their path. Once Yoshi is a short distance away from them, the Zeus Guys would attempt to kick or punch Yoshi, though they would still occasionally charge up and fire balls of energy, especially — but not necessarily — if Yoshi cannot actually be reached (for example, if Yoshi is on the other side of an unbreakable wall, or is standing on a platform right on top of the Zeus Guys). Yoshi cannot swallow them, and jumping on them or throwing an egg at them only stuns them temporarily. To defeat them, Yoshi must freeze and shatter them with a blue watermelon, spitting fire obtained from swallowing a red watermelon or a consumable fiery enemy like a Flamer Guy, or an Anywhere POW.
