Fleep
- “No toilet paper here, amore! ♪ I wait 100 yeeeears, amore! ♪ What for, what for, amore? ♪ ”
- —Fleep, Super Paper Mario
Fleep is the seventh Pixl partner of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Bowser in the game Super Paper Mario.
Fleep's powers let him flip the background, phasing hidden objects from one dimension into the one the player is currently in; his name is even a pun on the word "flip". Also, the ability can be used to stun enemies, confusing them into submission for a short while. This effect can also be used on projectile attacks, rendering them harmless. Fleep has the ability to allow the player to reverse a section of the screen at will. Whenever a sparkling rift is seen, Fleep can check whatever is behind it. The ability to reveal hidden objects to the player is similar to Flurrie's powers in the previous Paper Mario game, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
When the player first meets Fleep, he is in an outhouse on Planet Blobule. The player must then retrieve him some paper so he can "clean up", therefore the three heroes acquire the Ancient Clue paper from Blappy. After Fleep comes out of the outhouse, he pledges himself to Mario's team. He likes to sing while on the toilet, and speaks with a Spanish/Spanglish accent.
Trivia
- The quest of retrieving some paper for a mysterious character in the bathroom is remarkably similar to the one encountered in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
- After joining the heroes' team, Fleep's speech bubbles lose their rainbow borders. This is most likely a mistake on the developer's part.
- Fleep's name is also possibly a pun on the name Philipe (pronounced as feleep) or the word "flip", which is Fleep's special ability, pronounced with an accent.
- It is unknown how a Pixl can go to the bathroom, since they are only made up of lines.
