Tech Cursyas are Cursyas that appear in Super Paper Mario. They curse the characters with the No Skills status ailment, causing each hero to temporarily lose their specific ability: Mario cannot flip, Peach cannot use her parasol to glide and deflect enemy attacks, Bowser cannot use his Fire Breath, and Luigi cannot use his super jump. The Cursya's name actually refers to these abilities, as "tech" is short for "technique". Tech Cursyas can be distinguished from other Cursyas by their purple coloration.

Piccolo can remove the status ailment and these enemies may occasionally drop a Poison Shroom upon defeat.

Trivia

  • If Mario touches a Tech Cursya while in 3D, instead of switching back, he is forced to remain in 3D until the curse wears off or the timer runs out. However, switching to another character causes them to be automatically flipped back into 2D.
