Yoshi's New Island is an upcoming title for the Nintendo 3DS, scheduled for release in 2014.[1] It is the third game in the Yoshi's Island series and the sequel to Yoshi's Island DS.

Story

Yoshi's New Island takes place in a new location; Egg Island. Here, Baby Luigi has been kidnapped, so the Yoshis and Baby Mario go on an adventure to save him.[2]

Gameplay

Yoshi's New Island is a platform game which plays the same in style as its predecessors, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS. Many sceneries and moves from the game are similar, as well. So far, the main addition to gameplay is the ability to swallow extremely large enemies and turn them into colossally sized eggs, bigger than Giant Eggs. When thrown, they function similarly to Mega Mushrooms, wrecking everything in their path, the accumulating damage filling a meter that can provide Yoshi with up to 3 extra lives.

  • World 1-3: A cave with maces and Fangs. A giant Fang is the boss of this level.
