Template:Level Lineland Road is the first of four sites in Lineland in Super Paper Mario and the trail to Mount Lineland. It takes place in a grassy plain. This chapter is a throwback to World 1-1 of Super Mario Bros. in terms of the level design and layout. Also, the chapter music is a remix of the overworld themes of Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario World.

Chapter 1-1: The Adventure Unfolds

Mario's trek for the seven remaining Pure Hearts begin in Lineland Road. In the first section, Mario will meet the game's first enemies, a Goomba and a Squiglet. As Mario continues his journey, he will come across a door which is seemingly blocked off. Going past it and moving down a bit furthur, he will come across Bestovius's house. A Save Block can be found outside his house. When Mario enters the house, he will reach an empty room. When Tippi notices that Mario is stuck, she will give a short tutorial on how to use her Tattle ability. Mario then use this new ability to reveal a hidden door in the room. Through the door lies Bestovius.

Upon meeting Bestovius, Mario will ask him if he can provide him with the Flip ability, which would enable Mario to flip between 2-D and 3-D. Bestovius will then be sceptical about the offer, saying that Mario does not seem to be the real hero that the Light Prognosticus has predicted to appear. To ensure that Mario is the hero, he asks him to pay a fee of ten thousand Coins (this is not possible due to the game having a maximum limit of 999 coins). Declining this offer, Bestovius will then lower the price to all the coins Mario currently have. Should Mario decline the offer yet another time, the ability will not cost anything at all.

Mario, now being able to proceed through the door that was previously blocked off.

Once granted the Flip, Mario will be able to proceed through the seemingly blocked off door by flipping into 3-D, after discovering that the blocks were placed so that it is not possible to enter in 2-D. While there, he has to use the flipping ability to pass an otherwise insurmountable Warp Pipe. He will also see the game's first Koopa Troopas. Mario can find and obtain the Catch Card for Goombas in this section. Afterwards, he will be faced with a gap that is too wide for him to leap over. He will then have to utilise the Flip ability once again to find that there is a pathway in the background. After crossing the gap, Mario will come across the game's first Sproing-Oings and Squigs.

Upon making it to the third section of the level, Mario will encounter some high walls. He can chose between either jumping on the springboard or to flip into 3-D. If Mario chooses the latter, a group of Squiglets can be seen hiding behind the wall.

When he makes it to the fourth and final section, Mario will be able to use the game's first Mega Star. He will then make his way to the end of the section, defeating each enemy he passes in the process. In this section, the first Paragoombas, and the first Piranha Plants will be seen. The Star Block can then be found, which ends the chapter and begins the trek over Mount Lineland. However, Mario may flip into 3-D at this point just before hitting the block, revealing a narrow pathway that will lead him to a chest with the Koopa Troopa Catch Card.
