Back Cursyas are a sub-species of Cursyas from Super Paper Mario. They can be distinguished from other Cursyas because of their gray color. If players touch a Back Cursya, they will "flip out" and be sent back to Flipside, so it is recommended that Boomer, Cudge or Bowser's Fire Breath is used to defeat one. Its name comes from the fact that it curses the player to be sent back to Flipside. There are only two Back Cursyas in the game: one is in The Bitlands, in the area with the colorful columns, while the other is in Land of the Cragnons to the right of the pipe that leads to a card in 5-1.
Back Cursyas are the only Cursyas without a dark form, probably because the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials would be much harder if the player was constantly sent back to Flipside. It would also be easier to leave the pit, because usually the player can only leave every tenth room, and can not use the Return Pipe.
