Regional Coins[1] are one of the main collectibles in Super Mario Odyssey. They are purple and can be used to buy outfits, stickers and souvenirs.[2] There are 50-100[3] located in each kingdom, and their shape and design vary in each kingdom.[4][5]
Designs
Regional Coins have different designs in each kingdom.
- City Coins[6] with a portrait of Pauline on one side and a silhouette of New Donk City on the other[7] - in the Metro Kingdom
- Pyramid Coins[8] representing the Inverted Pyramid in the Sand Kingdom
- Bolt nuts in the Wooded Kingdom
- Polygonal tomatoes in the Luncheon Kingdom
- Wheels in the Cascade Kingdom[9]
- Shells in the Seaside Kingdom[10]
- Top hats in the Cap Kingdom
- Snowflakes in the Snow Kingdom[11]
- Leaves in the Lost Kingdom[12]
- Fish scales in the Lake Kingdom[13]
- Purple Coins in the Mushroom Kingdom
- Star Bits in the Moon Kingdom[14]
