Template:Articleabout Template:Kart-infobox The Blue Falcon is a small kart that first appears in Mario Kart Wii. In Mario Kart 8, it appears as a kart part in the first downloadable content pack. It is modeled after the actual Blue Falcon vehicle used by Captain Falcon in the F-Zero series. The Blue Falcon in Mario Kart Wii is based on its more modern design from F-Zero X on the N64, while the one in Mario Kart 8 is based on its design from the original SNES F-Zero. The coloring of Mario & Baby Mario's kart is the same as the Blue Falcon the kart is based on. The kart bears less resemblance to vehicle it is based on in Mario Kart Wii, having three wheels and a battery at the bottom. It depiction in Mario Kart 8' is more accurate, complete with flames instead of exhaust, which changes color depending on the mini turbo.

The Blue Falcon can be unlocked in Mario Kart Wii by winning the Lightning Cup in Mirror Mode. It does not have a bike counterpart for the small size class, being more similar to the medium bike Sneakster and the heavy bike Spear.

Stats

The Blue Falcon has great speed; it is the fastest small vehicle in the game. In fact, its speed is equivalent to the Flame Runner's. It is also the fastest vehicle without a counterpart in the game. However, the vehicle is rather light and has average drifting and acceleration, but its other stats are rather low. In fact, the Blue Falcon is the only small vehicle to have a Mini-Turbo lower than thirty, unless driven by Baby Daisy, Koopa Troopa, Dry Bones, or the Mii based on their Mini-Turbo bonuses. Its weight is tied with the Standard Kart S.

The Blue Falcon, in Mario Kart 8.

The Blue Falcon returns in Mario Kart 8 as one of the vehicles included in The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 downloadable content pack, as well as one of the three retro vehicle bodies to return in the game along with the B Dasher and Pipe Frame. Unlike in Mario Kart Wii, the model is based on the original Blue Falcon from the SNES game, F-Zero, has only one color scheme, and is available to all characters in all weight classes.

In terms of its stats, the Blue Falcon's stat distribution is similar to that of the Soda Jet kart body from Mario Kart 7; it boosts speed and acceleration, at the cost of some weight and traction. Also, the Blue Falcon's stats are shared with the Streetle, which is available in the Animal Crossing × Mario Kart 8 DLC pack.

Stats

  • Speed: +0.25
  • Acceleration: +0.25
  • Weight: -0.25
  • Handling: 0
  • Traction: -0.5
