Gary is a rather ordinary Goomba and a member of Bowser's legion of minions, the Koopa Troop. In Super Paper Mario, Gary is one of the many Goombas transported to Bowser's wedding to Princess Peach and later, to Count Bleck's castle.
After wandering around aimlessly in Count Bleck's castle, Castle Bleck, Gary and his unnamed Goomba companion find an unconscious Luigi.
