Gigabites are pale flying skulls in Super Paper Mario found in secret areas in Chapter 7-1 (Subterranean Vacation) and 7-4 (A Bone-Chilling Tale). Their name is a pun on "gigabyte," a unit of memory amounting to one billion bytes, and the word "bite." These extremely rare ghouls are stronger, white relatives of the Megabites. Gigabites only have 6 HP, but they only take 1 point of damage per hit, no matter how powerful the attack is. Although they fly near the ceiling most of the time, they will periodically swoop down and try to ram into intruders. Unlike Megabites, Gigabites will not flee from the scene and continue to fight the player.
